Soothing Bath Salts
The power of the bath to soothe and calm is well known to most of us. During a dying time, this is no less true for both the dying one and their caregiver(s).
These handcrafted bath salts begin with a base of epsom salts and unique blends of essential oils, with soul soothing and relaxation in mind. They are wonderfully scented and skin softening, and would work well in a foot soak or for use in small amounts in the water basin used to prepare a loved one for a Home Funeral. Each bottle can make one very generously salted full body bath, or two (or more) lightly salted ones.
Rose, citrus, jasmine and lavender are excellent relaxants and soothers paired with pink salt, while Douglas fir, star anise, comfrey and calendula are combined with black salt to draw stress out and uplift the bather.
In both varieties, there are botanical elements present in the salts that some people may find unpleasant to bathe with, so the jars each come with a small muslin bag which can be used to pour the salt into, letting the salt dissolve and the herbs steep without making a mess in the bathtub.
